New Car

Well... new to us that is. It is a 1977 Plymouth Volare station wagon, which we bought from the original owner. He needed to reduce his number of cars so he has time to restore his Model A and 1957 Chevy.

The car has manual steering, manual transmission, manual windows & locks. But is does have power brakes. The air conditioner doesn't work, but the windows do. :)
The engine is a slant 6, like found in the Dodge Aspen. It has just under 164,000 miles. It has been well maintained so we hope the kids will get lots of use from it.

How's the mileage LOL!

We haven't been able to figure the mileage yet. It doesn't have plates on it yet. We are registering it in Oregon, so it may take awhile for the paperwork to be done and the plates sent to us. Until they arrive, we are not driving it very much, as we don't want to hassle with dealing with police if anyone gets stopped.

Have you got the plates yet? I can't believe the DMV can be that fast but you never know. Other than the plates, how does it drive. It is actually kind of a cool car. I love the plaid interior.

Okay ... so now you're starting to look like the Brady Bunch... and as you're adding family members, it's not really much of a stretch to having that large of a family. The Landon Bunch riding around in a horrible (I mean lovely) station wagon!!! LOL

The kids like the station wagon. I guess it's old enough to be considered really retro- and that's in now. :)

And we would have gotten the plates with the 30 days, but the DMV in it's wisdom decided that the VIN inspection had to be on the official form, not on the police department's letterhead. Gotta love governmental agencies :(
