We got word earlier this week that Jonathan won't have to move to Huntsville, Alabama in August. Instead he will be moved to a job that is on the other Army post here in Atlanta.
We don't know yet what that job will be or if it will involve any deployed time. It might- but if it does it will be to Kuwait and on a 4 month rotation. That's a whole lot easier to deal with than a year long separation or living about 250 miles apart with him frequently on the road all over the southeast US. So we will be in Georgia for about another 2 years. So Jon Paul will be able to graduate from this high school and we will be expecting to move between Naomi's sophmore and junior years.
I was hoping to get back to the Pacific Northwest next summer, but that really was a long shot. This will give us some stability and we do have friends and a church here. It's not home, but it is not a bad place to live- things could be a whole lot worse!!

baby birds
We have a nest of birds atop one of the support columns of our front porch. I tried to take a photo of them, without scaring them too much. (They didn't really seemed scared, just wondering where was the food.) Mom & Dad bird weren't too happy. They were sitting in a near-by tree scolding.
Sorry the picture isn't any clearer. I think there are 4 babies, 3 in the photo (the biggest is right in the middle of the photo-looking right at the camera.)

I am a published author!!
I received notice this afternoon that an article I wrote has been selected for publication in an online embroidery forum/newsletter. Somewhere over the rainbow
As we were coming into the house this evening, there was a beautiful and full rainbow arched right over the house. I tried to take a photo, but in just the very short time it took to get into the house and grab the camera, the clouds turned dark and the rainbow was mostly faded. But here's what I was able to get...
Confirmation & Reception Service
On Sunday, there was a confirmation and reception service at Christ the King church. Naomi was confirmed. Denise and JonPaul were received (meaning they had already been confirmed and were now saying they wanted to be formally recognized as part of this congregation.)
Here are some of the photos from the service. I have not watched the video yet. It's about 1/2 hour as there were a total of 6 people confirmed and an additional 10 received.

Car Repairs, Taxes, & Spring Break
This week the kids and Jonathan have been home from school/work because of spring break. So we have been working on a variety of projects that have been needing a block of time to get done.
Denise ended up working 5 days this week though, so it's a good thing we hadn't planned on going somewhere. She was expecting to only work about 20 hours a week. She's getting about 24-28 hours. She seems to enjoy it- especially the bakery over the deli. She gets along well with the department manager.
On Tuesday, Jonathan and I taught a class to some of the recruiter spouses on surviving military life. On the way home, the PT Cruiser's check engine light came on. So it went into the shop- with 675 miles over the warranty limit. (of course it had to wait until it was expired!) Basically it needed a new sensor and a tune-up. It's running great now.
I managed to mostly get the federal taxes done. All I have to do is wait for 2 pieces of information which I just now realized I did not have. But I'll go ahead and file by Tuesday (tax deadline day) and then do an amended return if needed.
Naomi has taken the time off to repaint her bedroom furniture. She is trying to get things color coordinated in purples and green (to match all of her stuffed frogs). It's not quite done, but hopefully soon.
Jon Paul has been working on his proposal for his Eagle project. I think it is near completion (the proposal, not the project.)
I am working on several embroidery orders. One is on-going of lab coats for our dentist. I have done 9 so far and am expecting more next week. (They were out of the office this week.) I also am expecting an order of about 15 shirts from the teachers of the high schoo science department. JonPaul's teacher is working with me on this. She will get the orders next week once school is back in session.
Yesterday, my friend Christine and I went to several of the bookstores/gift shops that carry a lot of items with the Georgia Tech logo. Christine's husband Jim and Jonathan started discussing joining forces to make some shirts for the football parents support club at the college. We've been slowly working thru the details and licensing process. I think we are within several months of actually being able to sell some items with a college logo. This has some great potential if we can work out all of the details.
I am still trying to decide if I want to rent a space for the Memorial Day celebration/festival in Senoia. The hard part is deciding what would sell. We have not had good luck at craft shows before, so it's hard to get excited about it. Although, some of the other special events have pulled in a lot of people- even though the town is really small. I have until May 19th to decide- any suggestions or comments??????
I guess that about covers this week- nothing exciting, but rather productive overall.

Tornado that hit Atlanta
I came across this photo that hit Atlanta, but did not touch us 35 miles away! Thought you might like to see the awesome power--.bmp)
"On March 14th at 9:45pm a Tornado tore apart downtown Atlanta. Out of the 150 million + worth of damage the majority was inflicted on The Georgia World Congress Center.
Seven days earlier Dare 2 Share was doing our “Survive” conference (a whole new meaning to the word “Survive”) at this convention center with almost 6,000 teenagers. If that tornado had happened exactly one week earlier we would have literally been finishing up our drama when the storm tore through the building we were in." (photo and note from www.gregstier.org)
